OILSEIZER®
Oil/Water Separator, Pack-Type
KOWS series Oil/Water Separators are widely used to separate oils mixed together within in-line circulating oily water and solution. These are frequently applied in situations where (1) an appropriate time is not allowed until mechanically suspended oil droplets freely rise up to water surface or (2) an appropriate space is unavailable for setting larger settling tanks or where (3) rapider oil/water separation of in-line oily water is necessary that has virtually been unavailable by plain gravity separating tanks with no coalescing pack or by ordinary oil skimmers.

How it works
Oily water is fed by gravity or pump to the inflow chamber of the O/W separator and rapidly separates into three phases (oil, water and solid) when passing through the separation chamber equipped with oil coalescing media packs that provide high surface area for coalescing minute oil droplets as much as possible. Coalescing and growing bigger, oil droplets consequently rise up to above the pack and gravitationally discharge through the rotary pipe skimmer. Treated water (clean) flows outside through the outflow chamber. Most of suspended heavy solid particles settle down first in the inflow chamber, then in the separation chamber do less heavy ones. The solid sludge deposited on each chamber bottom should periodically be cleaned up.

Features |
|
- KOWS O/W Separator consists of a stainless steel separating tank, one- or two-staged oil coalescing media packs, and rotary pipe skimmer. If oily water is fed by gravity to the inflow chamber, the separator is readily available for operation once installed at the final location.
- Separation of oil globules down to 20 microns
- Removal of mechanically or temporarily dispersed oils in the turbulent water
- Durable tank made of stainless steel (SS304). Compact design. Least installation space
- Media packs in the separation chamber enhance the function of rapid gravity separation because of their unique vertical matrix of perforated oleophilic tubes in poly or stainless steel, or because of their very high surface compact packs in poly.

|
|
- In the case of transferring treated water (clean) high above the outlet level, an auxiliary service tank with a pump should be prepared by customer.
- Pre-installation considerations: oils (not chemically emulsified), hourly peak of oily water, ratio of oil to water, amount of solid in water, tank (aboveground or underground), water pH and temperature, available electric voltage
|
Options |
|
* Stainless steel media tube and frame for hot liquids over 60°C * Feed pump and its type: self prime, vacuum self prime, air diaphragm (by considering location of O/W separator and customer tank) * Motor pump electricity: 220V, 380V, 440V, 1Ph, 3Ph, 50Hz, 60Hz. Other voltages are available. * Electric control box(for additions i.e. feed pump switch, liquid level switch relay or timer) * Liquid level switch relay * Timer * Mobile cart
